A little about me

Here are Alberta’s answers from her brief ‘5 Questions’ interview during our Agent Spotlight:

Q: Why did you choose real estate as a profession?
A: I pursued real estate as a profession out of the need to solve a problem–after my divorce, had to figure out a way to be there for my children and at the same time earn a living. I knew what it meant to them to have a parent available during this challenging time in our lives, so becoming a realtor, offered me the flexibility to run a business while offering my children the attention and love they needed at the time–I managed to bring balance between parenting–which involved caring for them 24-7, taking them to piano lessons, karate classes, volleyball practice/games, orchestra/band concerts, basketball practice/games, parent/teacher meetings, etc. and running a business successfully–by meeting the needs.

Q: What has been most challenging about this journey so far?
A: I look at challenges as open doors to opportunities to become creative and innovative. As we all would agree, real estate is cyclical, therefore as realtors we need to be a step ahead of the unexpected–by preparing through advancement in technology, skills development and having the ability to become flexible enough to design alternatives to meet the goals we set for our business and at the same time meet the needs of our clients.

Q: What advice do you give your customers that they probably won’t hear anywhere else?
A: The first thing I would advice my customers to do is to become my clients–I would ask them to sign a buyer/broker agreement in order to keep their best interest at heart–this way, I will be able to offer them the ultimate client experience in home buying, selling and/or investing. As my client, with the end in mind–getting the best return on your investment, I partner with you to create an action plan towards building your short and long term goals in real estate. I request that we maintain an open communication in order to assess the situation at hand in order to build strategies that will effectively and efficiently help meet your personal and business goals.

Q: What has been the most rewarding part of being an agent?
A:
The most rewarding part of being a realtor is when I build long term relationships with my clients and we become good friends.

Q: What do you believe makes you different from other agents?
A: I am a realtor who is a part of the National Association of Realtors–as Realtors, unlike agents, we abide by codes of ethics and standards of practices. Therefore, my clients benefit from my professional service which includes sincerity, honesty and integrity in my business practices.
